How long does it take to see results from taking CBD?
Of course, how long it takes for CBD to “kick in” is a different matter from how long it takes for CBD to provide therapeutic benefits over a sustained period of time.
You may be wondering how long it will take before you see any consistent results from using CBD, and the short answer is: it comes down to your own body and needs. So, patience, and some experimentation, is required.
The longer answer depends on different influencing factors. These include what dosage of CBD you take, how frequently you take it, and in what format.
There are a variety of ways to ingest CBD oil, ranging from CBD oil-infused edibles like gummies, to tinctures, vapes, topical lotions, and capsules; just as varied, though, is the quality, purity and dosage of the CBD in these products. Not all CBD products are created equal!
And then there’s the issue of bioavailability, which is how much of the CBD actually makes its way into your bloodstream. Not all CBD that you ingest will make it into your bloodstream and even less will reach the endocannabinoid system, where it’s thought to have the most impact.
So far, the research indicates that CBD has a greater chance of being absorbed when it’s taken in capsule form—especially when microencapsulated (where the CBD oil is stored in a capsule within a capsule). Gummies are not nearly as bioavailable in comparison.
